Finding Purpose Through Scent: The Story Behind Meyander

Finding Purpose Through Scent: The Story Behind Meyander

If I told you that starting a fragrance brand was my lifelong dream, it would be a lie. Perhaps it was a calling, an accumulation of experiences, or an unusual talent for identifying scents instantly. The irony is that all this meandering led me to Meyander, and the journey was both unexpected and transformative.

After returning to India with my Master’s degree, I felt an intense void—no clear direction, no sense of purpose, no fulfilling career, no sense of community, and not even a solid sense of self. I often turned to my tarot cards for guidance, hoping for some spark of clarity. One night, at 3 a.m., I drew "The Magician." This card, symbolizing power, strength, and caliber, sparked something in me. The first thought that came to mind was ‘How can I embody this energy immediately?’ and a single word echoed in my mind: "Scent."

Long story short, somewhere, somehow over the next year, I ended up believing that I had something to offer that wasn’t out there yet. I wanted to bring light to the energies that surround us, yet somehow we forget to consider it as magic. Think of moments when someone has reached out to you when you were “coincidentally” thinking of them, or instinctively sensed that something (good or bad) was happening for a reason. Energy, though invisible, is everywhere, and I wanted to channel this awareness into a sensory experience.

I believe that fragrance holds the power to transform one’s state of mind. We at Meyander aspire to craft scents that empower, uplift, and inspire a deeper connection within oneself, and the unseen energies that surround us. Each fragrance in our collection is designed with intention, hoping you experience a sense of wonder. Curated with the hope that everyone finds something here.

May you always be inspired by the unseen.

Until next time. Happy Meyandering!

Warmly,
